About the 9/11 Attacks...
Set aside what you think you know about the 9/11 attacks and know this: in 1911, a group of Atlantean demigods headed by King Petyr Flamesteam and his wife, Queen Osane, met in the city of Archangelsk, Russia. They had witnessed the decline of humanity and the moral depravity that threatened to destroy their exiled race. After careful consideration, the demigods decided to give humanity a second chance to basically get their act together and stop their bad behavior. As you can see, after that meeting, two world wars broke out, over 25 million people were killed, and to make matters worse, incurable diseases ran rampant through the world, killing many more people.
